Þýðingar.is offers several ready-made dictionaries, available below, free of charge to users. The dictionaries are both general (not in a specific field), as well as specialised (i.e. covering a specific field) and are updated regularly. We also offer access-controlled dictionaries for institutions and companies.
Access-controlled dictionaries allow users within an organisation to access the dictionary in a browser and view it in a computer or smartphone. Users can then add terms, definitions and translation for other users to access immediately. It is also possible to specify dictionary editors who will have to accept any new entries.
Specialised dictionaries are particularly suitable for medium and large organisations where consistency of terminology, definitions and explanations is required.
There is no limit to the number of languages, terms or definitions in each dictionary.
Þýðingar.is will also add new terms if requested when receiving a text for translation from the organisation in question.
